Super Visa

Super Visas are special visitor visas for parents and grandparents allowing them to visit Canada for an extended period of time. You can only invite your parents or grandparents if you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Key Features of Super Visas:

Eligibility: There are several factors to consider. Most notably, you can only invite parents and grandparents with a Super Visa. There is a minimum income requirement and a financial responsibility for the Sponsor.

Time to visit: Stay in Canada for up to 5 years at a time without the need to renew a visa.

Insurance Requirement: The Sponsor must show proof of Canadian Health Insurance for the duration of the Super Visa.

Medical Examination: Applicants must show they are in good health.

What's the difference between a Visitor Visa and a Super Visa?

A regular visitor visa has a maximum stay of 6 months whereas a Super Visa allows admissibility for 5 years.

The validity date of the Super Visa and Visitor Visa are both usually 10 years.
