What is an LMIA?

If you secured a job offer from a Canadian employer who is willing to sponsor you, you may be eligible for an LMIA-based work permit.

An LMIA determines where a Canadian employer lacks qualified candidates for a job position and thus need to hire a foreign worker to fill the position.
